Not a typical Albuquerque band...
By typical, I mean falling obviously within the accepted Albuquerque guidelines of "80's Retro", "Southern Rock", "Blues", "Black Metal","Ranchero", "Casino Covers", "Jam Band", "Pop", "Hardcore", "Folk" or "Screamo".
Fast Heart Mart is a three piece acoustic rock band which transcends these rigid boundaries, delving bravely into "Celtic", "Bluegrass", "East Indian" and
" Surf". Some of the old labels do fit for a time, "Rock", "Punk", "Folk", "Anti-Folk", "Alt-Country". But in the end, Fast Heart Mart plays their very original "Sidewalk" music. The rhythms are unexpected, the melodies, memorable and the lyrics, full of humor and insight.
A street band first, this group will play night clubs if they have to, but prefer coffee shops, parties and outdoor festivals. Most of all, they refuse to play so loudly that people can't hear each other speak.
Their next show is February 4th at Burt's Tiki Lounge on Gold Ave @ 3rd Downtown with Handsome Molly from Taos, and The Voo Doo Organist from L.A. No cover. 21+ only.
