Lovely, ageable wine soon to be available
Here is a lovely little wine that comes from a couple who have been making wine for the last 20+ years. Dawnine was the wine maker for Domaine Chandon (yes bubbles) for 25 years, her husband Bill Dyer put Sterling on the wine radar with his talented touch on the Sterling Diamond Mountain Cab Sauv for 20 years. They had enough and are now making their own and well it is a simple delight.

This wine is huge, tight unless you are willing to wait two days but it is definetly worth it, and down right a wonderful representation of what Napa California Cabernet Sauvignon is and can be and was. It is a traditionally done Cabernet with out being over oaked, not jammy and fruit but full of character, dark berries, tobacco, hints of violets and well it is down right gripping. Here is wine that will age for the next 10 years or can be drank now I just highly recommend decanting this big lady or it will slug you.

This wine will be retailing in the $98.00 range but is so worth it since there will only be a limited availability for this gem. You will be able to find it at Quarters on Wyoming, Quarters on the West Side at Ellison and Alameda, Jubilation and Stoneface on San Pedro and Paseo del Norte. The wine should start appearing on the shelves by next week. A few restaurants such as Scalo and Brassiere may also have it available com October. So take a chance and try this wine, it will knock you out flat and leave you wanting to come back for more. - Megan , posted 07/18/08
